Our mission statement
Jigsaw has been providing support to prisoners and their families since 1991.
Our mission is to provide trusted and effective support services for prisoners and the people who love them to sustain meaningful relationships with each other during time in custody and beyond.
Our Values
At the heart of everything we do are four key values that guide our work:
Family
Family is at the core of our mission. We know that families come in all shapes and sizes and that relationships can sometimes be complicated. No matter what your family looks like, we are here to support you and help strengthen those connections during challenging times.
Independence
We are an independent charity. While we work closely with prisons, we are not part of them. This independence means we can tailor our services based on the real needs of the people we support, guided by the voices of our service users, staff and volunteers.
Diversity
We celebrate the rich diversity of the people we work with, our service users, staff and volunteers. We recognise that every community is unique and we are committed to providing services that respect and respond to that diversity.
Empathy
We believe in compassion and understanding. We listen to people’s individual experiences and offer care and support without judgment, whenever and wherever it’s needed.
